A Missoni for Target pop-up shop sold out within hours of its New York fashion week debut, giving a glimpse of how popular the marriage of the Italian fashion house and Minneapolis retailer might be with shoppers when the line hits stores nationwide Tuesday. The shop opened for six hours before it had to close its temporary store about two days early after all the clothes, housewares and other merchandise from the Missoni for Target line sold out.
The two-story, 8,000 square-foot space across from Bryant Park closed around 10 a.m. Friday, after debuting the evening before.
Andrea Zakai scheduled in a Target run during her lunch hour Friday, only to be turned away. “I’m disappointed. It’s an interesting partnership,” she said. “And there’s not a Target in Manhattan.”
